Who is Pomme?
Pomme is a French singer-songwriter born in Lyon in 1996. She gained popularity on YouTube and released her debut EP "En Cavale" in 2017. Her music blends folk, pop, and indie influences and features introspective lyrics and delicate melodies. She has released two albums, "À Peu Près" and "Les Failles," and continues to perform at music festivals around the world.
Her sold-out show in the Melkweg OZ was a beautifully intimate performance. With the venue holding about 600 people it makes it a truly magical experience as an audience member.
I was there around 3, with two other people joining me who I had found on Twitter de days before (for reference the doors opened around 7:30). We had made it our duty to get to the front. To our joy, Pomme walked past us to explore Amsterdam before the show and of course, we excitedly said hi.
As the hours passed more people joined us and we chatted to pass the time. It's always fun to get to know new people in the queue for concerts of your favourite artists.
When doors finally opened and we made our way in we were so excited when we managed to get right to the front. Oh, the joy when your hands touch that stage. Every concert fanatics' favourite thing.

First Pomme's friend Thx4Crying performed. A somewhat timid French artist who bewitched the audience with his tunes and voice.
There was laughing, there was crying. Pomme's clear voice and lyrics moved many. She also played multiple instruments during the set. Guitar, autoharp, keyboard and another instrument that I quite frankly don't know the name of.
To my own joy, she also sang Everything Matters. A song she made in collaboration with Norwegian artist Aurora. All in all, it was a beautiful show.
